All Maya practitioners are highly trained and skilled in the practice of bodywork. Our practitioners are healthcare professionals who are dedicated to ensuring top-notch massage services that promote health, fitness, and ease in movement for our clients.
Our practitioners can often provide helpful consult and relief for our Wellness Massage clients regarding healthcare concerns ranging from anxiety to frozen shoulder; insomnia to hot flashes; pulled hamstring to migraines, and other commonly occurring conditions. However, Wellness Massage is not charted or coded and practitioners do not require a referral or prescription for massage. This type of massage is not generally eligible for reimbursement by health plans and no itemized medical receipt is generated. |

Medical Massage services are customized to meet client needs, based on treatment plan provided by medical practitioner and information provided by client during intake and during the treatment.
1 Hour (4 units) Prepaid Medical Massage - $79
(CPT Codes 97124 or 97140. Payment due at time of service) Medical massage includes review of treatment plan from medical professional; full intake; medical charting/SOAP notes; coordinating care, as needed; and an itemized medical receipt. Intake, client prep, and charting typically requires 5-15 minutes and hands-on treatment time of 45-55 minutes. Direct billing to insurance providers is not provided by Maya Whole Health Studio. If you have out-of-network benefits on your health insurance; a PIP insurance claim; Flex Savings Accounts; or Health Savings Account AND you have a medical referral for massage, your medical massage services may qualify for reimbursement. Reimbursement is dependent on terms of your plan benefit and cannot be checked or guaranteed by Maya Whole Health staff. In order to provide a complete itemized medical receipt (as required by most FSA and insurance companies for reimbursement), Maya requires a prescription or referral from a health care professional legally qualified to issue a ICD-10 diagnosis code and a treatment plan that provides diagnosis code, number and frequency of treatments, and duration of treatment plan. Without this referral, we can only document the subjective diagnosis, which does not typically qualify for reimbursement through medical plans. Please ask if you have any questions about what is needed by the practitioner. |

- We’ve updated our check-in procedures for appointments and set up signage throughout the studio to ensure social distancing. More details about the check-in process will be sent through your appointment confirmation email.
- After scheduling an appointment with us, we will send you a COVID-19 Consent Form that must be filled out prior to coming into the studio.
