East Asian Medicine Practitioner
Description
The Naturopathic & East Asian Medicine Practitioner will diagnose, treat, and provide recommendations and prescriptions
to prevent diseases and disorders using a system of practice based on the inherent natural healing capacity of the human
organism. This position will support the natural healing process with treatments that address acute disease and injury in
the organism and support sustained balance and healthy operating of physiology. Treatments to address acute disease
and injury and underlying imbalance include acupuncture, tui na, heat and cold therapy, injections of pharmaceutical
grade vitamins, and application of pressure point nodules. This position will be responsible for properly administering both
Naturopathic and East Asian Medicine Treatments by interviewing clients regarding physical ailments; examining clients
for evidence of disease/injury; diagnosing conditions; assessing patients to develop customized treatment plans;
documenting patient histories; and utilizing specific medical codes and specialized software programs for charting of
diagnoses and treatment.
Educational and Experience Requirement
Doctorate Degree or its equivalent in Naturopathic Medicine and Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Certified through National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Licensed and
insured in Washington State as both a Naturopathic Doctor and an East Asian Medical Practitioner. 1 year of experience
practicing medicine in clinic or studio.
Skills Desired
Proficiency in all primary aspects of Naturopathic Medicine (assessing, counseling, and ordering of laboratory testing and
diagnostics, injections, and prescription). Advanced training and expertise in nutritional supplementation (including
Chinese herbs) and exercise physiology. Training and competency with following tools: the blood pressure cuff kits
(sphyomomanometer), galvanic or faradic stimulators, neuromuscular stimulators.
